Changes to UK VAT rate

On 1st December 2008 the UK VAT rate will decrease from 17.5% to 15%. This change will impact the subscription paid by the majority of our customers. We'll contact you individually over the next couple of days with new subscription details.

For VAT registered, UK based letting agents, RentPro will apply VAT to management fees as follows:

• Management fees applied up to 30th November 2008 will have VAT charge at 17.5%
• From 1st December 2008 through 31st December 2009 VAT will be applied to management fees at a rate of 15%
• From 1st January 2010 the VAT rate will revert to 17.5%

New RentPro Features

The following features have recently been added to RentPro.

Property Portals
RentPro can now upload vacant property information to the following property portals:

• rightmove.co.uk
• propertyfinder.com
• fish4homes

Vacant Property Mailshot
Via the Vacancy Report (Reports -> Alerts) it is now possible to send a property brochure, by email, to all prospective tenants whose search preferences match the vacant property. To do this simply click on the mail icon associated with the vacant property. You will then be presented with a list of prospective tenants with options to exclude individual prospects from the mailshot. (Obviously only tenants for whom an email address has been defined within RentPro will be included in this list.)

Emailing of Property Brochure / Vacant Property List
It is now possible to email a property brochure or the vacant property list to any specified email address.

Safety Certificates
When recording details of a safety check it is now possible to upload, and subsequently view, a PDF version of the associated safety certificate.

Trouble Tickets
When completing a Trouble Ticket the option now exists to define text to appear on the landlord report/statement. If supplied, this text will override the original ticket description.
